Originally a record of my thoughts and progress as an ‘ordinary bloke’ gets ready to run the Keynsham 10K Road race. For 2010 I accepted the challenge to run the Pensford 10K. A much more Up and Down affair! With a ‘chip’ time of 52:59. (Yes under 53 minutes!) I was pleased.
Over £700 raised inn 2010 year so my target was exceeded. With HSBC matching £4£ up to £500 over £1200 (plus Gift Aid) going to the BHF. I call that a result and thank every last one of those who supported me then. Humbling and heart warming.
For 2011 it was back to the Keynsham 10K and another £1,054 raised.
For 2012 a slightly different challenge and this time overseas! I have committed to running in the Transbaie, an approx 15Km (10 Miles) across the St Valery Sur Somme estuary, Picardy, France. Our french friends suggested I might want to partake in the arduous slog through mud , sand and seawater….about 6500 people regularly do each year.
So the travel arrangements have been made and I am in well into my training and ‘regime’ to lose weight. I squashed the scales on the 2nd Jan at 76KG but today (11/3) 69KG and a little further to go to my fighting weight. Read more on the TRANSBAIE page.
If you have read this then I hope you will be one of my supporters and thank you.
